VALID's winning Document and Records Management
solution, R/KYV, pronounced archive, has been awarded contracts
in Carmarthenshire County Council, Salisbury District Council, Welwyn
Hatfield District Council and Gwynedd worth over £700,000.
Dafydd Edwards, senior manager - Treasury, Gwynedd
Council: "We chose VALID's R/KYV solution because its open format
permits integration with specialist Local Authority software and
results in a true corporate solution. Other factors included the
solution's scalability, e-GIF compliance and PRO-approved Records
Management functionality. And most importantly, the product is very
competitively priced".
Carmarthenshire, in west Wales with a population
of almost 170,000 chose R/KYV for its corporate Document Management
solution. Valid beat Comino and Anite to win the contract. The Benefits
Department is set to go live this month using DDE and ODBC links
so Council staff will be able to "hot key" between Sx3 (formerly
First Software) and R/KYV to control 18,000 cases at any one time,
over four separate locations. Council tax and non domestic rates
administration will go live immediately following the Benefits Department.Once
again, R/KYV will be linked to Sx3 software.
VALID beat i-document systems to win a contract to
implement R/KYV in Welwyn Hatfield District Council. The Council
houses a rural and urban population of 95,000. R/KYV was initially
installed to manage the Revenues and Benefits, Housing and Planning
Departments, with a view to running it as the corporate solution.
Within Welwyn's Revenues and Benefits Departments R/KYV will integrate
with Academy software and in the Housing Department, with Orchard
Information Systems. Control of the Planning Department will be
provided by R/KYV linking up with Innogistics.
Rural Salisbury, home to a population of 111,476,
in partnership with West Dorset District Council, chose R/KYV over
i-document systems as its corporate solution. The Revenues and Benefits
Department with 50 users will be the first installation site. As
part of the Best Value Initiative, Salisbury's Revenues and Benefits
solution will incorporate the Wyvern Workflow, written by West Dorset's
technical department and tailored to meet Salisbury's requirements.
R/KYV integrates with Academy software and Ingres database, using
DDE links, to manage the Revenues and Benefits departments.
Gwynedd County Council, population 117,000, in North
Wales has also just purchased R/KYV to provide a corporate EDMS
solution. R/KYV will initially be installed in the Revenues and
Benefits Departments where it will integrate with Academy software.
